Title: Everything You Need to Know About IUI Treatment

1
Everything You Need to Know About IUI Treatment
2
  • Artificial insemination, also known as
    intrauterine insemination, is a fertility
treatment that involves injecting sperm directly
into the uterus to simulate fertilization. So,
what are the benefits of IUI treatment, and who
    is an ideal candidate?
  • Fertility treatments help couples who are having
    difficulty conceiving, and intrauterine
insemination is one of the most effective methods
available. Semen is inserted into the uterus in
    this type of treatment.
  • This fertility treatment is recommended for
couples who are having difficulty conceiving due
to low sperm count, ejaculation issues, poor
    sperm motility, or cervical conditions.

What is the Process of Intrauterine Insemination?
  • Before insemination, your fertility doctor may
    recommend ovulation Induction medications, after
which they will carefully monitor you to
determine when the eggs are mature.
  • The intrauterine insemination procedure is
carried out around the time of ovulation.
  • Ovulation is indicated by an increase in the LH
hormone level, and treatment is administered
24-36 hours after the hormone level rises.

4
  • The sperm are separated from the fluid after the
sperm sample is collected and cleaned in the lab.
  • These sperms are then injected into the uterus
    through a catheter.
  • When compared to IVF, it is a less invasive
procedure. This treatment that only takes a few
    minutes.
  • Consult a fertility clinic to discuss your
options and learn how intrauterine insemination
    can help you.

5
How is IUI different from IVF?
  • Difference between IUI and IVF
  • IVF fertilization takes place outside of the
human body, in a petri dish. IUI involves
injecting washed sperm into a woman's uterus.
  • A single cycle of IUI has a success rate of
approximately 10-20, whereas IVF has a success
    rate of approximately 65-72.
  • A cycle of IUI is significantly less expensive
    than an IVF cycle.

How Does Artificial Intrauterine Insemination
Help?
  • Infertility is a common problem that is
increasingly becoming a source of concern.
  • IUI treatment is one of many options for
combating infertility and helping couples in
    becoming pregnant.
  • The insemination procedure increases the chances
of pregnancy by increasing the number of sperm
    that enter the uterus.
  • Although the sperm must still fertilize with the
egg on its own, unlike IVF, intrauterine
insemination gives the sperms a head start and
increases the number of sperms entering the
uterus to meet the egg for fertilization.

Is IUI treatment helpful?
  • A variety of factors must be considered to
determine the success of fertility treatments.
  • Some of the factors that affect its success are
the woman's age, the use of fertility medication,
    and the causes of infertility.
  • Couples using insemination in combination with
fertility medication have an average pregnancy
rate of 8-17 percent per cycle.
  • Multiple cycles gave couples a better chance of
    conceiving.
  • Additionally, those who used fertility drugs were
    more likely to become pregnant.
