The History of Pickleball

• Pickleball is one of the first paddle sports,

  Stouffer and his wife Eileen until 1931 to
  develop a version for hard rubber perforated ball
  used on ice hockey rinks (Canadairs manufactured
  them). As the desire for new methods to play the
  game grew, they developed a paddle that could fit
  on larger athletic.

• Another story is that Mr. Stouffer was out on the
  lake and saw a boat playing Pickleball. He
  thought it would be fun to create a game based on
  this activity, so he started making his own
  paddles and balls out of aluminum. Once he had
  created enough prototypes, he convinced some
  friends to play him in test matches, which soon
  led to Pickleball becoming a popular sport around
  North York, Canada.
