Stone Cold, Early Life, Wrestling and Career
2
Who is Steve Stone Cold Austin?
  • Steve Stone Cold Austin was born in Texas and
went to college at North Texas State University,
where he played football. In 1989, he became a
    professional wrestler. Because another wrestler
had already used his real name, Steve Williams,
he used names like Stunning Steve Austin and
The Ringmaster before becoming Stone Cold
Steve Austin. Before he retired in 2003, he was
one of the best-known WWE wrestlers because of
his catchphrase Austin 316. After he stopped
wrestling professionally, Austin acted in a few
movies and now hosts a number of reality TV shows
    and podcasts.

Early Years
  • Austin was born in Austin, Texas, on December 18,
1964. He raise up in the small town of Edna,
Texas. Scott, Kevin, Jeff, and Jennifer are his
brothers and sisters. He says that when he was in
middle school, he broke out of his shyness when
he found football. In the end, sports helped him
    feel more confident.

4
School Life
  • He was a running back in the football crew at
Edna Secondary School, got straight As in
school, and was in the National Honor Society. He
says he used to want to be a rock star, but he
couldnt sing or play any instruments, so he gave
up on that dream. All things being equal, he
went gaga for wrestling, which he says just
sounded good to him one day as he was flipping
    through Stations.

Left USWA
  • Before his first match in Memphis, he found out
that a wrestler with the name Dr. Death Steve
Williams already existed. He had 15 minutes to
come up with a new name. He chose Stunning Steve
Austin with the help of his booker, Dutch
Mantell. At the time, he was known for his red,
sequined robes. In 1990, he left USWA.

Career after Wrestling
  • Austin took a break from acting for three years,
during which he says he drank a lot. He then went
to California to start an acting career. The
Longest Yard, with Adam Sandler, was his first
movie. The Condemned, in 2007, and The
Expendables, in 2010, were his next two movies.
Austin says it didnt take long for him to
    realize.

7
Broken Skull Sessions
  • Fnally, he says he found his niche in hosting,
reality TV, podcasting, and a WWE Network
interview segment called the Broken Skull
    Sessions.

8
Life at Home and the Kids
  • Austin has been married more than once, and his
daughters names are Stephanie and Cassidy. He
admits that his wrestling career was more
important to him than being a good dad, which
hurt his relationship with his kids. He explains,
They realized I cherished them, yet I was not
there. Now that they are more seasoned, we are
headed to improving. So now they are going after
their own goals. I back them, and if I can help
them in any way, I do. After all the nonsense
that has happened, were finally talking. Even
though the relationships were tense, they are
better now, but its still a building block
because, after all these years, we still dont
know each other as well as we should.
