What is the UPSC Mains exam?
  • UPSC Mains exam is an all India level Civil
    Services Examination conducted by Union Public
    Services Commission (UPSC) every year. UPSC Mains
    exam is conducted in three stages Preliminary,
    Mains, and Interview. 
  • The Preliminary examination is usually held in
    December and the Mains examination is usually
    held in April(tentative). Candidates who qualify
    the Preliminary Examination are eligible for
    appearing for the Mains Examination.

UPSC Civil Services IAS GS Mains Test Series
  • The Mains exam is of objective pattern and is
    divided into three papers Paper I - General
    Studies, Paper II - Optional Subject, Paper III -
    Language Paper. The General Studies Paper is of
    150 marks. There are three sections in the
    General Studies Paper GS I - Indian Heritage and
    Culture, GS II - Indian and World Geography, and
    GS III - Governance, Polity, Social Justice
    Development.

  • The Compulsory Subject of both Papers is English.

  • Preparation for the exam is very important. The
    application form for the UPSC mains exam will be
    released in the last week of July. The last date
    for applying for the UPSC Mains Exam is September
    30. UPSC Mains Exam is conducted in the month of
    December. The exam pattern is simple, but it is a
    little lengthy. The question paper consists of
    four parts.
