BAD BREATH
TOOTH DECAY
GUM DISEASE
Poor breath or a bad taste in the mouth that
persists might be an indication of gum disease
(periodontal disease). Plaque accumulation on
teeth causes gum disease. Toxins are produced by
bacteria, which irritate the gums. Gum disease
can destroy the gums and jawbone if left
untreated.
Cavities are little gaps or holes in the hard
surface of your teeth that are permanently
damaged. Cavities, also known as tooth decay or
caries, are caused by a number of reasons,
including germs in the mouth, frequent eating,
drinking sugary beverages, and not brushing your
teeth thoroughly.
Periodontitis (per-e-o-don- TIE-tis), commonly
known as gum disease, is a dangerous gum
infection that affects soft tissue and can ruin
the bone that supports your teeth if left
untreated. Periodontitis can result in teeth
loosening or tooth loss. Periodontitis is a
frequent condition that may be avoided in most
cases.

CAUSES OF BAD BREATH
What's going on in your mouth or throat is the
most common cause of foul breath. Bad breath is
caused by bacteria, gum disease, cavities, dry
mouth, poorly fitted dental equipment, and
infections, to name a few. Problems with the
intestines, liver, and kidneys are sometimes the
source of the disease.

INFECTION OF DENTAL PULP
ENAMEL DENTIN DECAY
Plaque acids dissolve minerals in the hard outer
enamel of your teeth. Cavities begin as
microscopic gaps or holes in the enamel as a
result of this degradation. Bacteria and acid can
enter the dentin layer of your teeth if sections
of enamel have been worn away.
GENUINE HALITOSIS Physiologic halitosis and
pathologic halitosis are two types of
halitosis. Pseudo-halitosis is a diagnosis that
occurs when there is no mouth malodour but the
patient feels he or she has it.
Presentations are communication tools that can be
