2Bajaj Auto's most affordable bike CT 100, has
been discontinued in India. After the company
stopped production a few weeks ago, dealers have
also stopped receiving new stock of the bike.
However, this could be a temporary break, and the
CT100 could return. The retro-inspired CT 110 X
is now the only motorbike in Bajaj's CT lineup.
Bajaj CT100 has been retired after several years
of service without any prior notice. The
Pune-based company stopped new production of the
100cc low-cost motorcycle earlier this month, and
dealers have stopped getting fresh stock.
The end of the CT100 is likely due to a gradual
shift in customer preference for the CT110X's
slightly more premium and retro-styled sister.
The bike starts at Rs.65,000.

4Bajaj CT100 - We will miss you!
The Bajaj CT100 is a traditional Indian budget
commuter motorbike with a tubular frame.
Conventional telescopic front forks and SNS twin
rear shock absorbers make up the suspension
design. The CT100 had front and rear drum brakes
as a no-frills mobility option but came with
black alloy wheels. The 102cc air-cooled engine
produced 7.8 bhp power and 8.3 Nm torque with a
4-speed transmission.
Bajaj CT100 has managed to stay afloat in the
Indian 100cc commuter segment is a credit to its
cost-per-money quotient, longevity, and better
fuel efficiency. The CT100, like its sister model
Platina, is renowned for its high mileage of over
70 kmpl. Though the price point of Rs 53,696 is
appealing to the customers, Bajaj may find it
hard to maintain a reasonable profit margin due
to an increase in input prices.
Currently, Bajaj does not have any new 100cc
commuter bike that can replace the CT100. So the
company's lineup of commuter bikes now starts
with Platina 100 and then Platina 110.
