FUN ACTIVITIES FOR KIDS
  • By Sanjeev Datta

2
INTRODUCTION
  • Play is an essential part of a child's
    development. Why? Because peek-a-boo, patty-cake,
and playing home teach children to think
    creatively and socially.
  • When children play, they not only grow physically
but also mentally and emotionally, and they learn
how to deal with the outside world. Play is
essential to your child's growth and development.
    It helps to alleviate stress.

LANGUAGE DEVELOPMENT ACTIVITIES
WORD ARC
ROLE PLAYING
TAG-A-LONG
STORY TELLING
Visit writing skills for kids
  • Storytelling is a fun way to learn new words and
build language skills. Together, they make up
stories with characters, conflict, and a joyful
ending. Discuss who is in the photo, what they
were doing, and where they were.
  • On cardboard cutouts, write the words for
everyday goods. These include furniture, bathroom
products, apparel, and toys. Listen to each word
and instruct your youngster to put it on the
correct item. Gradually, you can start writing
adjectives for household goods. Include fresh
adjectives and assist your youngster to identify
    items that fit the description.
  • Building on your child's existing vocabulary is a
simple strategy to improve their language skills.
On cardboard cutouts, write several nouns and
verbs your child knows. Then write the adjectives
and adverbs. A noun or verb plus as many
    adjectives and adverbs as feasible.
  • Role-playing is a great approach to spark your
child's imagination and teach new words and
phrases. Using costumes and props (or making up
your own!) you may role-play different characters
and introduce related terms while stretching your
    child's imagination.

COGNITIVE DEVELOPMENT ACTIVITIES
ALPHABET PRACTICES
FIND NOISES
COUNTING
KAROKE
  • Ask your child to name everyday noises (i.e. a
bird singing, a car horn, running water, or the
dishwasher). He will learn how sounds relate to
    daily objects.
  • Sing songs with your youngster and invite him to
join in. This game improves memory and word
    recognition.
  • Help your youngster recognize letters by singing
the alphabet song, reading alphabet books, and
    playing alphabet puzzles.
  • Find opportunities to count throughout the day.
Count the shoes in your child's wardrobe or the
slides on the playground when you go to the park.
You might soon be counting everything!

COGNITIVE DEVELOPMENT ACTIVITIES
MAKE CHOICES
QUESTION
GET OUT AND ABOUT
SHAPES COLORS
Visit benefits of meditation for kids
  • Asking questions like, Which toy should we take
up first when cleaning the living room? Asking
him questions helps him master problem-solving
    skills and understand his surroundings.
  • Assemble shapes and colors with your youngster.
That is a big car, red car, or That signal is
red in color, when approaching a stop signal.
Ask him to describe objects as he grows older.
  • Would you like to wear the brown shirt or the
blue shirt? How about string pasta or yogurt for
lunch? This will help him feel more self-reliant
and learn to make confident decisions.
  • Visit your local children's museum, library, or
farmer's market to pique his interest and provide
hands-on opportunities. Ask him questions while
you explore and observe his reactions. These
adventures can teach you both a lot.

CREATIVE LEARNING ACTIVITIES
PLAY WHAT-IF GAME
DRESS UP IMAGINATIVELY
SPONGING
ROLE PLAYING
NAME GAME
DRAW CONSTRUCT
  • This crazy game will challenge your child's
imagination. Think of hilarious scenarios to get
those small minds flowing. Ex. What if cats and
dogs barked?, What if it was sunny all day and
    night? What if pigs barked?
  • All those clothes you don't want, don't fit, or
are saving for no reason? Save these for a
    kindergarten creative thinking activity. Tell
your child to put on an outfit. Ask them what
    they're wearing. And if you're clever, you'll
make them play maid and clean up after
    themselves. WIN-WIN!
  • Art is a fantastic way for kids to express
themselves. Buy paintable sponges from any craft
store for this exercise. Stock up on colors and
paper, then head home and work. Let your kids
express themselves. Deal with the mess! It's all
for the arts. Help Your Child Develop Creative
Thinking Skills. Enroll your child in the Atlas
Mission and let them learn through play. Your
child will unwittingly improve their creative
    thinking skills!
  • Nothing beats having youngsters role play with
plush animals or dolls. They can manufacture
whatever dialogues and circumstances they want.
Seeing how the little people in their world
interact helps strengthen their social skills.
Allow your child to act out their fantasies using
    plush animals.
  • For this game, ask the child to mention as many
red things as possible. Then inquire how many
items are round. Continue with new examples.
  • This activity necessitates a trip to the craft
store. Get long rolls of paper... Enough time to
track your child's body. Once home, have your
child lie on the paper and trace their body. Then
ask him or her to elaborate. It's fascinating to
watch how children see themselves and how
    imaginative they can be.
