WHAT IS EPILEPSY SURGERY?
Epilepsy surgery is a procedure of remove the
seizure-producing area of the brain or
restricting the spread of the seizure. The goal
of surgery is to to achieve better seizure
control without causing loss of brain function.

WHAT HAPPENS DURING SURGERY?
The anterior temporal lobectomy is performed in
five steps. It usually takes 3 to 4 hours for the
surgery to be completed.

Before brain tissue is removed, brain mapping
using electrodes implanted directly on the brain
