How Does Belkyra Work?

• Belkyra is made up of deoxycholic acid. This is a
  natural substance in the body that can lead to
  the destruction of fat cells. When fat cells are
  exposed to deoxycholic acid, the cell membrane
  breaks down and the contents of the cell are
  released into the surrounding tissue. These
  contents consist of free fatty acids and
  glycerol, which are completely harmless. These
  can cause some temporary swelling and
  inflammation, but this quickly dissipates as the
  body absorbs the free fatty acids, returning them
  to the liver or excreting them through the
  kidneys. Once the inflammation dissipates, the
  tissue is back to normal, except there are fewer
