    are used for optical grading. Silicon wafers can

    manufacturing material. Especially manufactured
    silicon wafers are made using Floating Zone or CZ
    fabrication methods. Both approaches produce
    wafers with minimum defect level and enhanced
    performance compared to other methods of
    manufacturing. Specific purpose silicon wafers
    are used in micro-optic and fiber optic devices
    such as image sensors (CIS). These CIS are made
    of complementary metal-oxide-semiconductor (CMOS).

Solar Cells
  • Silicon wafers are used to build solar cells for
    better performance and output. They use amorphous
    Silicon, monocrystalline Silicon, and cadmium
    telluride as their base material. Solar cells
    efficiency can be improved by 25 with the help
    of fabrication process such as Floating Zone.
    Solar cells are made in the same manner as
    microchips. Solar cells do not require the same
    level of purity and quality as do computing
    devices and other electronics.

  • Silicon wafer are widely used in the aviation
    sector because of desirable qualities of a
    semiconductor. Other than their use as a covering
    and binding material, they are also used for
    insulating sensitive components to protect them
    from getting exposed to high temperatures. Due to
    its high temperature tolerance, it has widely
    been used in various sectors. Another usage of
    silicon wafers in aerospace is their help in
    original equipment manufacturing (OEM).
