Title:

Soft Ferrites: Properties and applications

Description:

Soft ferrite magnets are widely used in electrical applications due to their low coercivity. Soft ferrite magnets are commonly used in power transformers. Microwaves, radio antennae, and inductors are some of the other applications for soft ferrite magnets. Soft ferrite magnets may readily and swiftly change magnetic orientation. – PowerPoint PPT presentation

Low coercivity magnets are classified as soft
ferrite magnets. What exactly does this mean? The
capacity of a magnetic substance to tolerate
external magnetic forces without becoming
demagnetized is measured by coercivity.

Manganese-zinc ferrite (MnZn, also known as
MnaZn(1-a)Fe2O4). MnZn has higher permeability
and saturation induction than NiZn. NiZn
(NiaZn(1-a)Fe2O4) is a nickel-zinc ferrite
(NiZn). NiZn ferrites have higher resistivity
than MnZn ferrites and are hence better suited
for frequencies above 1 MHz.
