• The Combined Defence Services Examination
  (abbreviated as CDS Exam) is conducted by the
  Union Public Service Commission for recruitment
  of Commissioned Officers in the Indian Military
  Academy, Officers Training Academy, Indian Naval
  Academy and Indian Air Force Academy. The
  Notification for the examination is usually
  released in the months of October and June, and
  the examinations are conducted in February and
  November respectively. Only unmarried graduates
  are eligible to sit for the exam. The examination
  is conducted twice a year. Successful candidates
  are admitted into the respective Academies after
  an interview conducted by the Services Selection
  Board (SSB).

Educational Qualifications

• Passed/Appeared/Appearing Final year degree or
  equivalent examination (with Physics and
  Mathematics at 102 level. The final year of the
  Engineering degree examination. After completing
  the 12th examination , you are not eligible to
  apply for CDS Examination because it is a
  graduate-level examination . If you are willing
  then first you have to complete your UG degree
  with any desired subject

Age Limit

• Applicants for Indian Military Academy and
  Indian Naval Academy should be born not earlier
  than January 2, 1999 to January 1, 2004. For the
  Air force academy, the age limit is 20 to 24
  years. Education For Indian army recruitment,
  applicants should have an undergraduate degree.

Physical Standard

• Male candidates with a minimum height of
  157.5cms (157cms for Navy and 162.5cms for Air
  Force) and women with a minimum height of 152cms
  will be eligible for the CDS 2 examination. 6.
  Mal-development or impairment of bone and joint
  functions will lead to disqualification of the
  candidate
