TOP MOUNTAIN BIKE TRAILS IN TEXAS
2
Do you want to shred your new mountain bike in
Texas? If so, we have the perfect list of trails
for you! Weve done all the research and compiled
a list of the top ten best mountain bike trails
in Texas that will give you an experience like no
other! These trails are some of the best around,
and you wont be disappointed! After reading
this, if you still want more, then check out a
similar article on mountain bike trails in
California that we recently wrote.
3
Alamo Area Trails Network
  • We start with the Alamo Area Trails Network
located outside of San Antonio, deep in the heart
    of South Texas.
  • With over 300 miles of trails to choose from,
    its no wonder why
  • The terrain ranges from old farm roads through
rugged creek beds and steep rocky hillsides, so
there is a little something for everyone.

4
Oak Hills Trails
  • Mountain bikers tend to like riding here because
its like they get their private park all to
    themselves!
  • The trails consist primarily of large loose
rocks, wooden bridges, and challenging climbs
that will challenge even the most experienced
    riders.
  • The best thing about this network is its location
right off I-10, making it an easy, quick getaway
    from nearby cities!
  • Another excellent piece of trivia there is a
nice little campground at the trails parking lot
that is excellent for overnight trips!

5
Shiloh Ridge Trails
  • The Shiloh Ridge Trails are located in Canyon
Lake near San Antonio, with over twenty miles of
trails to choose from, depending on your skill
    level.
  • They have numerous rock gardens, steep climbs,
and plenty of wooded areas to explore if youre
    into that sort of thing!
  • They offer three different loops that range from
beginner-friendly to hardcore, so there is
    something here for everybody!
  • One excellent piece of trivia there are no fees
or permits required to ride here, which is
    fantastic!

6
Barton Creek Greenway Trails
  • This network offers over nine miles of marked and
maintained trails that wind through beautiful
limestone cliffs and deep creek beds.
  • There are plenty of obstacles along the way, such
as multiple wooden bridges and narrow rock
ledges, so its not for beginners!
  • If you ride here, please make sure you stay on
marked trails and respect all private property.
Lastly, if you plan to ride here, be sure to wear
bright clothing during hunting season just in
    case!

7
Kickapoo Mountain Bike Trails
  • You can ride singletrack trails through the woods
and along a creek bed or cruise down lovely
forest roads at your own pace.
  • If you are ready to shred, then come on out and
    give this place a try.
  • There are also plenty of long climbs, so if that
doesnt sound fun, then just go play at one of
the many nearby swimming holes instead!

8
Frontier Park Trails
  • The Frontier Park Trails are located near Houston
in the small town of Humble on the banks of Lake
    Houston.
  • This area has over twenty miles of trails to
choose from, consisting of dirt roads, double
    track, and single tracks.
  • The network is open year-round with plenty of
shade, so its not hot! There are also lovely
views overlooking Lake Houston if you get tired
    of riding.
  • There is no fee required to ride here, which is
fantastic, but please remember that it is a
public park, so please respect the rules.

9
Big Creek Trail
  • The Big Creek Trails are located in San Marcos,
close to Austin and San Antonio, making them an
    excellent choice for weekend trips!
  • These trails offer over thirteen miles of
    intermediate-level riding with some good
    technical features here and there.
  • They also have ten miles of beginner trails which
are perfect for first-time riders looking to
    explore what mountain biking offers!

10
Cedar Hill State Park
  • This network offers over fifteen miles of
beautiful singletrack that winds through deep
    valleys and along rolling hills.
  • Its always a good idea to bring your bike up
here at least once each month for maintenance
check ups because lots of tree roots along the
trails can harm your bike if you arent careful!
  • There is no fee required to ride here, which is
fantastic, but please remember that it is a
public park, so please respect the rules.
