• A tape dispenser is basically an object which
  holds a tape in a sheet and has a mechanical
  mechanism at its end to manually shear off the
  tape.
• Dispensers range widely depending on the tape
  that they dispense.
• Most common and abundant, transparent tape
  dispensers are usually made of clear plastic,
  which can be easily disposable.
• These devices dispense a large volume of tape,
  especially in the case of single color tapes.

• The type of Tape Dispenser that you will need
  depends on what type of tape you are using.
• To cater to a wide variety of needs, some tape
  dispensers have both, a tape roller and a roller
  that dispense a specific type of tape.
• The types of dispensing mechanisms vary and they
  are as follows water activated, magnetic,
  spring, self-cleaning, self-adhesive, and gummed.
  
• There are also bottle-style dispensers that can
  only dispense a small volume of adhesive tape
  these types are called bottle-style tape
  dispensers.

• Water-activated tape dispensers, the most
  commonly seen model, features a ball inside which
  the rollers push into the liquid soap solution
  which is then released when the rollers come out
  of the ball.
• This is the most widely used type and is mostly
  used by dishwashers and small washing machines.
• This model is easy to use since the user just
  needs to place the tape, push the button, wait
  until it gets cut, push the button again, and
  then manually feed it into the washing machine.
• However, due to its disadvantage it is mostly
  used in commercial settings.

• Magnetic tape dispensers work by emitting a
  magnetic field which bonds the tape to the
  packaging tape or whatever is being packed.
• This type works by having the proper poles
  attracted to each other, which causes the liquid
  coating to stick to them.
• This is the most heavy-duty type and there are
  only a few uses for it which is mainly evident
  from the packaging tapes that are used in
  packaging.

• A cartridge-based hand held tape dispensers are
  preferred by most companies and are preferred
  over the manual type simply because it seals more
  quickly than the other types.
• The process uses an electric current to move the
  tape into the dispenser where it is then sealed
  with a sheet of clear gel or plastic.
• The high voltage signal sent by the hand held
  dispenser activates the sealed areas to seal.

• Handheld taping machines are also available in
  the form of C-Tape which have the consistency of
  chamois and is applied on both sides.
• These tape dispensers use static electricity to
  activate the C Tape when it is fitted to the
  packaging tape.
• Once the tape is fixed on both sides it runs down
  the sides of the carton and ties at the top.
• This specific type of taping machine runs on
  either electricity or batteries.
• There is an also definite length tape dispenser
  which will be useful for long runs of tape and
  will need to be adjusted as per the packaging
  tape run length as required by the company.

• There are two types of taping machines, the first
  being the self-sealed and the second being the
  gummed.
• A self-sealed system will allow you to seal the
  boxes yourself.
• You do not have to rely on any external force to
  seal the boxes and it does not depend on any
  external stimulus such as wind.
• All you need to do is place the boxes inside and
  turn the machine on.
• You will find that the taping machine will start
  moving and sealing the boxes as you adjust the
  settings.

• The gummed ones work with the use of a suction
  ring, which has a suction cup which fits onto the
  tape and seals it.
• These dispensers can fit in the cartons just fine
  but they are not as effective.
• The gummed type of Taping Dispensers is available
  at more affordable prices than the self-sealed
  ones and you can also purchase them in packs of
  up to a hundred packages.
