• A facial implant is a procedure in which
  synthetic material such as silicon, are used to
  provide cosmetic definition to the face, and
  typically performed on patients cheeks, jaw or
  chin.
• They are specially formed solid materials

preparation

• To prepare for facial implants the patient may be

• A facial implants procedure may include
• The first step of procedure is to give sedation
  and general anaesthesia to patient.
• The specific area to be augmented in the cheek
  determines where an implant will be positioned on
  the cheekbone. The incisions are placed through
  incisions in mouth.
• For a chin implant, the incision may be inside
  your mouth, along the crease that joins your
  lower lip and gums. 
• Jaw implants are generally placed through the
  mouth with incisions inside the mouth, back along
  the jawline at the crease.
• The incisions then will be closed by sutures and
  stitches and will be removed after two weeks.

• The patient stays in the recovery room till he is
  alert and breathing effectively. Facial implants
  are usually outpatient procedures. The patient
  stays in the effect of anaesthesia for a while.
• Recovery time varies depending on the procedure,
  general health, age, and other factors. Most
  people return to normal activities within a week,
  but need to avoid strenuous activity for four to
  six weeks. Full recovery and maximal facial
  improvement takes three to four months.

• The results of facial implants will be
  long-lasting however, the initial healing phase
  may include localized swelling, discoloration,
  numbness or discomfort. In addition, facial
  movements may be temporarily restricted or
  impaired. These are common conditions.
• Although good results are expected from the
  procedure, there is no guarantee. In some
  situations, it may not be possible to achieve
  optimal results with a single surgical procedure
  and another surgery may be necessary.
