Title: The Ferrari Dino: History, Models, Differences

1
The Ferrari Dino History, Models, Differences
  • Ferrari was a family-owned car manufacturer from
Italy that started out in the late 1920s. The
company had been mostly known for racing cars but
in 1970, they released their first road car, the
Ferrari 365 GT4/BB. It was only a few years later
that the company would release a second,
lower-performance streetcar The Ferrari Dino! In
order to get an idea of how different each model
is from one another, its important to understand
just what made up each type and when they were
released and also about the Ferrari parts.

  • Below you'll find a list of all currently
available Dinos and their Ferrari parts,  and
when they were released. The original Dino was a
2-door sports car produced between 1971 and 1976.
It was intended as a replacement for the Ferrari
275 GTB/4, which had been replaced in 1966. The
Dino I used a V12 engine that initially produced
260 hp and 275 Nm of torque. As time went on it
became known that the model wasn't quite as fast
as its predecessor but it is still a capable road
    car.
  •
  • You'll often hear the name Dino used
interchangeably with its successor, the Dino 246
GT, which was introduced in 1973. Since they both
shared the same basic body style, powertrain, and
chassis components they share many similarities
as well as differences with one another. While
    the second-generation Dino shares many
similarities to the car that preceded it, there
are also significant differences. First of all,
the body is longer and wider.

Which is better out of the two? The Dino 246 GT
or I?
  • We would say that it depends on what you're
looking for in your next vehicle but if you want
something very similar to what was produced years
ago then go ahead and buy a Dino 246 GT. The
model was made between 1974 and 1976. Ferrari
wanted to update the car to improve its
performance, efficiency, and styling. The engine
now produced 275 hp and 330 Nm of torque,
together with better brakes. With this model, you
could opt for one of three different suspension
setups or 'carrozzeria'. There was the 3-layer
torsion bar suspension that was introduced with
the 246 GT there was also a 'Strada' setup using
coil springs and an anti-roll bar finally, there
were two-way adjustable shock absorbers that
combined both torsion bars and coil springs.

Who values more? The Ferrari Dino I or II?
  • The first generation has a much better value as
it was produced many years before its successor
and for this reason, they are quite rare as cars
go. A new Dino I sold at the time for 12,000 USD
while a Dino II sold for 25,000 USD. Its very
simple if you see a garage with a Dino I and
another one with a Dino II youd probably go
after the first one because chances are it will
be less expensive and there is more of a chance
that you will get it at that price. There is also
more of a demand for this model and thus more
chance that it will appreciate faster over time.
