ABOUT UNIVERSITY

• Manipur Technical University is one of the first
  technical universities of the State.
• Also, the University laid down its foundation on
  23rd April,2016 under The Manipur University
  Act, 2016 (Manipur Act No.8 of 2016).
• Moreover, it is enlisted in the UGC list of all
  deemed universities under section 2(f) of the UGC
  Act, 1956.
• Consequently, it is entitled to award degrees
  under section 22 of the same Act.
• Furthermore, the university works towards human
  resource development and conducts capacity

CAMPUS

• Currently, the university is located in the
  Government Polytechnic Campus at Takyelpat,
  Imphal West District, Manipur.
• The Manipur Government has allocated land
  spreading across 116.22 acres to build a
  permanent campus at Khaidem Makha Leikai and
  Heigrujam Mamang Leikai under Patsoi Sub-Division
  of Imphal West District, Manipur.
• At present, the Manipur Technical University has
  11 departments in Science, Engineering,
  Humanities and Social Science and Management
  Studies.
• Furthermore, the university offers affiliation to
  all the technical institutions running across the
  State of Manipur.

  Engineering, Pune as appointed by MHRD.

• It is a 4 year course and takes 45 students in an
  academic year.
• The course includes lectures on Electronics and
  Communication with emphasis on latest
  technological developments including
  semiconductor devices, microprocessors, network
  theory, analogue and digital electronics, digital
  signal processing, VLSI, industrial electronics,
  communication systems and networks, antenna
  design, microwave engineering, communication
  networks etc.
• Electrical Engineering
• It is a 4 year course with an intake of 45 seats
  every academic year.
• Additionally, it includes studies on Electricity
  with emphasis on the latest technological
  developments including power systems, energy
  conversion system, solid-state devices,
  electrical measurement and instruments,
  microprocessors microcontrollers, digital
  signal processing etc.

HISTORY

• Manipur Technical is the first technical
  university established in the State of Manipur.
• All the technical institutions in the State
  derive their official affiliation status from MTU
  and hence, work under its rules and regulations.
