ABOUT UNIVERSITY
Tata Institute of Fundamental Research is a very

HISTORY
They were initiated by professors like Prof. B.M.
Udgaonkar, C.K. Majumdar and S.S. Jha in 1967,
the TIFR Graduate School maintained its education
and training till 2002, when Deemed University
was awarded to TIFR. All TIFR candidates received
a Ph.D. underneath the Tripartite Agreement,
which ultimately contributed to the emergence of
TIFR, from the University of Mumbai over this
lengthy time. Since 2002, TIFR has been a
