Title: Essentials to carry on your monsoon trek
1Essentials to carry on your monsoon trek
2Essentials for your monsoon trek
The monsoons have rolled around and for many
people around the country, that means it is trek
season. Here are a few products you shouldn't
leave home without. All of these have been
curated keeping in mind the fact that you want to
pack light for a trek, and yet you shouldn't find
yourself lacking if you need an essential during
your trek. From a muscle pain relief gel to
flashlights - here is our list.
3Flashlight
Granted that your phone can serve as a flashlight
in any situation but phone batteries can die out
at any time. If you are out on a trek during the
monsoons, mishaps can cause your phone to get wet
or at least run out of juice. In such a
situation, it is always handy to have a
hand-powered flashlight. These can generate light
by simply winding them up and are a trekker's
best friend during the night.
4Fresh underwear
Thanks to the mild climate in a country like
India, you don't have to worry about exposure.
Even if you do get wet in the rain, you can
always dry off your clothes or rely on your body
heat to dry them off. However, wet underwear can
not only play spoilsport but also cause itching
and rashes. Make sure your backpack contains an
extra set of underwear, especially if you are
headed out on an overnight trek or plan to have a
long trek and are expecting it to rain.
5Electrolyte powders
- Treks can turn into long and arduous affairs.
Despite the rains, treks in most parts of India
can be hot and heavy, causing you to lose copious
amounts of fluids as you sweat through the day.
Dehydration is a real possibility and you need to
be prepared for any eventuality. An electrolyte
powder can come in very handy in such situations.
You just need to mix it into your bottle of water
and keep taking sips regularly to ensure you
don't get dehydrated.
6Muscle pain relief gel
- Muscle aches and injuries are very common on
treks and it is possible that at least one person
in your party will need some instant pain relief.
Make sure you pack the best pain relief gel too
for such situations. These gels are either
heat-based or cold-based and offer a quick fix
for muscles cramps, aches, and pains. Simply
apply the gel to the affected area and you should
get enough relief to be able to carry on. -
