ABOUT UNIVERSITY
Established in 2008, Sarguja University is
located in one of the oldest cities of the
eastern-Central part of Chhattisgarh, Ambikapur.
Moreover, it is an autonomous public state
teaching cum affiliating University. In addition
to this, Universitys territorial jurisdiction
expands to five districts, namely, Balrampur,
Surajpur, Sarguja, Jashpur, and Koriya. The
former name of Sarguja University, as a matter of
fact, was Sant Gahira Guru University. On the
whole, the autonomous national body of NAAC
accredited Sarguja University for its excellent
performance in the field of higher
education. Undoubtedly, the main goal of Sarguja
University Ambikapur, Chhattisgarh, is to
encourage the tribal youth of the surrounding
areas to pursue higher education. In addition to
this, the college has recognition from the
Pharmacy Council of India for its medical courses

HISTORY
The history of Sarguja University, as a matter of
fact, relates to the all-round development of the
tribal youths. In other words, the state
government of Chhattisgarh aims to divert the
potential energy of the youth into productive
energy. So that, the youth can make an effort for
the betterment of their future. As a result, the
youth will avoid participating in anti-national
violence activities such as Naxalism. Henceforth,
State Government laid the foundation stone of
Sarguja University on 2nd September 2008.
However, Sarguja University history is all about
the regional development of the state and its
people.

COURSES OFFERED

• Bachelors Course
• Sant Gahira Guru University offers diverse
  undergraduate courses that spread across multiple
  subjects of specialisation. Moreover, the popular
  courses of the university are B.A, B.Sc, B.Com,
  BCA, B.Ed. Besides that, Sarguja University
  offers 7 courses at the UG level.
• Masters Courses
• Undoubtedly, Sarguja University has a wide range
  of postgraduate courses. However, the popular
  courses at the PG level are M.A., MSc, and LLM.
• PhD./M.Phil Courses
• As a matter of fact, Sarguja University,
  Ambikapur, offers doctoral courses to research
  scholars in 15 specialisations. To elaborate,
  some of these specialisations are Philosophy,
  Law, Environmental Studies, Biotechnology, Civil
