3ABOUT UNIVERSITY
The Maharishi Balmiki Sanskrit University is a
public institution of higher education. Moreover,
it is one of the recently established
institutions. In fact, it was established in the
year 2018. The state government of Haryana
founded this institution under Act 20/2018. Above
all, UGC has approved the University. Furthermore,
as the name suggests, the university promotes
Sanskrit, Vedic Science, and Gurukul Tradition.
It offers various UG, PG, and Doctoral courses in
Arts as well as Education. Besides, it also
offers admission to the students who have
completed their studies up to the 5th standard
and 10th standard. Finally, the university is
quite unique in its approach to learning and
teaching. On one hand, it is trying to use the
Sanskrit language as the medium to teach students
and on the other, it is keeping alive the ancient
Gurukul Tradition.
4ABOUT UNIVERSITY
Currently, the MBSU is operating from a temporary
campus which is in Kaithal, Haryana. In fact, its
main campus is still in the process of building.
Moreover, its main campus will be in the village
Mundadi of Haryana. As the myth suggests, the
ashram of Maharishi Valmiki was situated at this
place only. The university is founded to
promote the study of traditional as well as
modern subjects through the medium of the
Sanskrit language. In fact, even the website of
the University has its content in three
languages namely, Sanskrit, English, and Hindi.
Hence, the university truly captures the essence
of multilingual India. Above all, it is a unique
step towards bringing the Sanskrit language into
the mainstream of Education in India.
5COURSES OFFERED
Bachelors Firstly, the Maharishi Balmiki
Sanskrit University offers two courses at the
undergraduate level BA/ BA Hons. And B.Ed. In
fact, these degrees are called Shastri and Siksha
Shastri respectively in the Sanskrit language.
Moreover, in BA/BA Hons. One has to opt for a
single subject from the 18 available options
mentioned on the website. Besides, for B.Ed., one
needs to have a traditional degree in Sanskrit
from a recognized institution or University.
furthermore, a candidate could also have a
Master's/ Acharya equivalent degree. Masters
Similarly, The University offers two postgraduate
courses MA and M.Ed. Moreover, in the Sanskrit
Language these, degrees are called Acharya and
Siksha Acharya respectively. Furthermore, a
candidate with a Shashtri degree or a BA with the
Sanskrit language as an elective subject.
However, the M.Ed. is currently unavailable in
MBSU, Haryana. It is only available at MSBU,
Jaipur.
6COURSES OFFERED
Ph.D. Finally, for the Ph.D. courses, the
candidate has to get his Masters degree/ Acharya
from Sansthan or a reputed University. Moreover,
he/she should have a minimum of 55 marks. The
University offers a doctorate in Vyakaran,
Jyotish, Baudhha-Darshan, Vedanta, Sahitya,
Nyaya-Vaisheshik, etc.

8HISTORY
The Haryana Vidhan Sabha passed the bill for MBSU
in 2018. Initially, the then CM of Haryana Mr.
Manohar Lal Khattar got the idea of establishing
this university. However, it was only after Act
20/2018 was passed that the university was
established. Moreover, the university honors the
revered sage Valmiki who is known to be the
author of Ramayana the epic poem. In fact,
Ramayana was the first epic poem. And, its author
is regarded as Adi Kavi (poet). Besides, its
first academic session was to start to form the
year 2019. Furthermore, to take admission to the
university, a candidate has to follow some simple
steps. First, one needs to register himself or
herself on the official website. Next, one has to
pay the registration fee of 200/rs. Finally, the
university will select the eligible candidates
