• National Dairy Research Institute is a deemed
  university, which laid its foundation in 1923.
  The government of India approved the institute to
  function as a university. The university has its
  location in Karnal, Haryana. The University
  Grants Commission recognized the National Dairy
  Research Institute. The Institution has many

HISTORY
Earlier in 1923, the National Dairy Research
Institute came into existence. The NDRI has been
largely developed for the past few decades in the
areas of Dairy production, processing, Management
and Human Resource Development. The details and
information gained from the institute helps to
the development of the dairy industry as a whole
and helps in the livelihood of many milk
producers and consumers of milk and milk
products. Knowing the needs of the global dairy
trade, the institute continuously works to
develop its RD and HRD programs to serve the
country.

INFRASTRUCTURE
The National Dairy Research Institute has a good
infrastructure. It has a wide range of
facilities. The campus has a calm and peaceful
atmosphere. Also, the campus sprawls around 560
acres of land with 1800 dairy animals. In
addition, National Dairy Research Institute has
facilities such as a milking parlour system and
shelter management system to improve the projects
and research activities etc. Furthermore, the
university has a Wi-Fi campus, medical
facilities, labs are available. Likewise, the
university has various clubs to enhance students'
skills. Some of the facilities of the National

laboratories on the university campus. The labs
are equipped with modern equipment which helps

separate hostels for both men and women on the

modern amenities. Further, the hostels are very
secure as they have fully armed security guards,

cupboards, study lamps, water supply, internet
facilities etc. Further, every hostel has mess
and dining facilities equipped with utensils and

Basketball Ground, Football ground, Cricket
ground etc. are available. Moreover, indoor games

products. The university is also very keen on

Library The National Dairy Research Institute
has a national library on dairying on the campus.
The library has a wide range of around 56000
books. Also, the library is situated in an area
of around 1914 sq. meters. Additionally, the
university provides online membership for
students. The library holds a collection of
books, audiovisual resources, students project
reports, newspapers and journals and magazines.
Both offline and online books and journals are
available on the campus. Many subscribed
e-journals are also available. The main library
opens from 8.30 AM to 8.30 PM. Wi-Fi Campus The
