How to Fix Common Problems in Infrared Gas
Burner?
  • Its the weekend, and you have invited your
friend circle for Party at your residence.
Suddenly, you have turned on your grill, and it
stops igniting. Like this issue, there are many
common problems faced by infrared gas burner
users daily. Some non-critical problems in
infrared technology burner and other burners can
be resolved by using a few appropriate methods
    discussed in this write-up.
  • What Are Common Issues in Gas Burners and How to
    Fix Them?
  • Lets go through some common issues with
rectifying procedures to resolve gas burner
    problems that are discussed below.

3
  • Squatty Blaze from Burners
  • It is one of the top burner problems that you
might have faced while cooking or heating. Most
Gas tanks are equipped with an overfill
protection tool to prevent the grill from being
choked. It also senses the unwanted release of
gas trapped in the line or manifold. When you
resume the gas tank, the blaze will burn in a
regular pattern. Have you ever seen uneven bursts
when you manually light your burner? If yes, then
clean burner holes filled with debris or soot and
immaculate burner or venturi pipes to confirm no
spider webs formed inside them. Few appropriate
troubleshooting steps are given below to fix
    uneven blaze from burners.
  • Be confident that the gas tank valve is switched
    off
  • Put all grill knobs in the closed position
  • Disengage the hose and regulator from the gas
    tank
  • Unlock the grills hood
  • Reset all of the control knobs to a high position
for about two to three minutes to bleed out any
gas that remained in the manifold

4
  • Inspect for Spiders and Insects in Burners
  • Scrutinize your burners carefully to search for
spiders and insects available on them. These
pests prevent gas from burning normally. It can
trouble you by causing a fire behind the valve
panel and making it unprotected to ignite.
Investigate the burners every year if any such
    incident occurs.
  • The burner flames appear yellow combined with an
    unusual smell
  • The grill is not reaching the expected
    temperature
  • The grill burns abnormally
  • The burner makes a bursting noise
  • The knobs get heated quickly.
  • Recouple the hose and tank to the regulator
  • Unseal the tank knob and turn slightly to
    pressurize the line
  • Light your grill

5
  • Grill Wont Ignite
  • There are several factors why a grill wont burn
with the spark generator. Try manually to light
your grill if it is having this problem. If it
ignites, then there is a problem in the Ignition
system. Three spark generators are used to ignite
the grill that is given below
  • Electrical Ignition System This ignition system
is managed with electricity. Examine if there is
enough power flowing through your grill outlet or
    transformer in a working position.
  • Battery Ignition System It is equipped and
powered with battery or push-button igniters.
When investigating, you must confirm that the
ignition system set up has a new battery
    installed in it.
  • Piezo It is not powered with electricity or
battery but ignited with a hard burst.
  • It would be best to inspect the crack in the
metal tip or the correct alignment of the end
with the electrode to the burner. Also, be
confident if a grill burner is ignited with a
matchbox. Procure igniter electrodes by removing
cooking deposits or heat absorbers. The electrode
may be installed in a collector box. When you
turn on or tap the ignition switch, you will hear
a quick burst or spark in the electrode. Place a
flat head screwdriver on the electrode metal tip
to look for the spark. If it is sparking, it
    means it is correct.

6
  • Troubleshoot Yellow/Orange Blaze
  • If your burner is ignited and burning with yellow
or orange flame, it means that there is no
appropriate mixture of air and gas or insects are
    trapped inside the venturi tubes.
  • Examine for insects obstructing the gas pipes
  • Loose the screw located at the end of the burner
to allow the shutter to open or close moderately
  • Burn the grill to see your flame pattern returns
to original blue combined with yellow tips
  • Once you have a blue flame, tight the screw to
    put the shutter as usual
  • A yellow and orange flame is caused by an
inaccurate gas mixture on the orifice. If you use
natural gas, the excess of propane causes too
much gas release from the orifice and creates a
    yellow flame.

7
  • Less Heat Precipitation If the Knob Is In Full
    Position
  •
  • Examine if the problem is outlined to only one
burner. Clean the burner orifice and clear ports
    for any barricade
  • Inspect for any curled or bent fuel hose
  • Investigate if the air shutter is appropriately
    adjusted
  • Examine for proper gas supply and pressure
  • Preheat grill for 15 minutes
  • Check empty gas tanks if using liquefied
    petroleum gas.
  • gas efficient burners can be caught under
multiple problems but dont panic because every
hassle has a premium solution. Consult with a
proper mechanic to troubleshoot all issues in the
    Gas burner.
