Every year for about 2 1/2 weeks in January and
February the rock, gem, mineral, and jewelry
worlds cosmically align in Tucson as Tucson gem
and mineral show. Researchers, gemologists,
authors, artists, miners, and trade companies
gather from every continent to share their
treasures, knowledge, and expertise. Earth's gem
and mineral riches are on display at over 40
venues unfurled all over town, for sale in
substantial circus tents, expo halls, hotels,
warehouses, and in the city's fine Convention
Center. Every polished plus rough rock plus
fossil specimen plus every form of faceted jewel
that you could picture is being peddled
everywhere upon blankets on sidewalks or in
complex exhibits brought within with the world's
best museums and enthusiasts.
