EasyApache 4 Interface
  • The EasyApache 4 Interface lets you update and
    install Apache, PHP, and the other components of
    your web server. It installs, updates,
    configures, and validates your web server. It
    provides a convenient way for the modification of
    the web server.
  • It needs to be noted that this interface doesnt
    display the exact package names. The ea- prefix
    is used to start the actual package names on the
    system.

How to Run EasyApache 4 Interface
  • You need to use the EasyApache 4 interface of WHM
    in order to run EasyApache.
  • WHM gtgt Home gtgt Software gtgt EasyApache 4
  • A graphical interface for yum is provided by
    EasyApache 4. It can be used on the command line.
    It is recommended that you update the version of
    your cPanel WHM, prior to running EasyApache 4.
  • EasyApache functionality is not supported on
    those versions of cPanel WHM that have reached
    EOL (End of Life). It is only when your version
    of cPanel WHM can support a new feature in
    EasyApache, that your server is able to access
    that feature.

Creating an Apache Handler

    adding an Apache handler
  • Enter the handler name in the text box, Handler.
  • Enter the file extension in the text box,
    Extension(s).
  • A file extension refers to the letters after the
    dot (.) in a file name.
  • Space-separate multiple extensions.
  • Click Add.
  • It needs to be mentioned here that the interface
    does not let you create custom Apache handlers

  • The EasyApache 4 Home interface is displayed by
    the system when the EasyApache 4 interface is
    opened. The below-mentioned sections are present
    in the Home interface.
  • Run system update This link redirects a user to
    the System Update interface and lets the user
    update the RPMs on his/her system.
  • WHM gtgt Home gtgt Software gtgt System Update
  • Currently Installed Packages The current
    configuration of your system is displayed in this
    section. To see the currently installed packages,
    you need to click View all packages. Click
    Customize in order to make changes. Click Convert
    to profile to save the packages that have been
    currently-installed as a profile.
  • Available Profiles All the currently available
    profiles on your system are displayed in this
    section.
  • Upload a profile In order to upload a custom
    profile, you need to click Upload a profile.

Convert to Profile
  • You need to carry out the following steps in
    order to convert your configuration into a custom
    profile
  • Click Convert to profile in the section,
    Currently Installed Packages.
  • Next, enter your profiles name. This name is
    displayed by the EasyApache 4 interface. Select
    the checkbox, Overwrite an existing profile, in
    order to overwrite an existing profile that has
    the same name.
  • Enter your profiles file name. You should not
    include the .json extension.
  • You have the option to enter your profiles
    description. This description will be displayed
    by the interface.
  • As an option, you can enter a list of tags that
    is comma-separated.
  • Click Convert.
  • The new profile is saved to the
    /etc/cpanel/ea4/profiles/custom directory by the
    system.

Save as Profile
  • A new profile can be saved at any point of the
    EasyApache 4 configuration process. In order to
    attain that, you need to carry out the following
    steps
  • Click the option, Save as profile, during the
    EasyApache 4 configuration process.
  • Enter your profiles name. This name will be
    displayed by the EasyApache 4 interface.
  • Select the checkbox, Overwrite an existing
    profile, in order to overwrite an existing
    profile that has the same name.
  • Enter your profiles file name. You should not
    include the .json extension.
  • A file name of . or .., or a file name that has
    the / or NULL character cannot be entered.
  • If you desire, you can enter a description for
    your profile.
  • Click Save.
  • The new profile is saved to the
    /etc/cpanel/ea4/profiles/custom directory by the
    system.

Upload a Profile (from a Local File)
  • It needs to be mentioned here that profile files
    need to use a JSON format. That is because the
    system wont display files in any other format.
  • Carry out the following steps to upload a custom
    profile from a local file
  • Click Upload a profile.
  • Click Browse and then select that profile which
    you want to upload.
  • Select the checkbox, Overwrite an existing
    profile, in order to overwrite an existing
    profile that has the same name.
  • Click Upload.
  • The system uploads your file and refreshes the
    EasyApache 4 interface.

Upload a File (from a URL)
  • Carry out the following steps to upload a file
    from a URL
  • Click Retrieve from URL.
  • Enter in the text box the URL, that you want to
    upload.
  • Fetch the contents of the URL by selecting the
    checkbox.
  • Click Upload.
  • Your file is uploaded by the system. The system
    refreshes the EasyApache 4 interface.

Command Line Changes
  • Some changes can be performed on the command line
    with EasyApache 4. In order to install or
    uninstall packages manually, yum can be used.
