If you have moderate acne and are uncomfortable
taking antibiotics, or you are unhappy with your
current topical treatment results, BLU-U blue
light therapy may be something for you to try.
Blu-u is an easy, safe, and non-invasive
treatment that is easy and fast to schedule. The
BLU-U is a unique blue light that kills the P.
acnes bacteria in your skin. Treatments are
simple you sit with your face close to the light
for a short time, approximately a 17-minute
session about once or twice per week.

Acne treatment with Levulan Photo-Dynamic Therapy
is for the most aggressive treatment of stubborn
acne, where we utilize BLU-U Therapy with
Levulan. This treatment uses Levulonic acid as an
added agent when photo-rejuvenation is used. The
Levulonic acid is applied to the skin, which is
absorbed by active cells, such as acne sebaceous
glands, making the targeted acne cells more
sensitive to the light. This combined interaction
of the solution and the light is what gives rise
to the term photodynamic therapy. The Levulonic
acid will also target sebaceous hyperplasia
(which are small (1-3mm) benign bumps under the
skin) and the papules of acne rosacea.
