Pregnancy is a time of bliss and excitement.
However, for some it is the time that dreaded
stretch marks appear. Although there is nothing
you can do to guarantee you will not get stretch
marks. There are some steps you can take to aid
in the prevention or severity of them. Below are
some simple tips you can add to your daily
routine to help keep your skin healthy.

Stretch marks are a common skin condition that
many people have. Stretch marks occur when the
dermis layer of your skin is stretched too
quickly without enough time to catch up and make
new cells.
MEANING OF STRETCH MARKS
Stretch marks comes in all size, shapes and
colors. Some are barely noticeable while others
are quite disturbing to look at. The size of
stretch mark depends on how much you have grown
over the years or months since they first
appeared on your body!

There are few different types of stretch marks
  • Linear or straight stretch marks appear as thin
    , white lines and often happen in pregnancy
    because the stomach expands so quickly that skin
    does not have time to grow right behind it and
    catch with where your skin would normally be.
  • They also occur when you lose too much weight too
    fast (or put on just as much) without giving
    enough time for your bodys cells to adjust.
  • Horizontal or wavy stretch marks shows up more
    red than linear ones do and produce wider streaks
    across the surface of the skin.

PREVENTION OF STRETCH MARKS
1) MOISTURIZE
Stretch marks occurs when your tummy grows faster
than your skin breakdown resulting in stretch
marks. Consistent moisturizing keeps your skin
supple.
2) STAY HYDRATED
Drink a lots of water. Hydrating from the inside
out helps maintain your skins moisture balance
which maintains its elasticity and allows it to
stretch easier.

3) EAT A HEALTHY DIET
A healthy diet is the key factor to the growth of
your skins health. Choose foods rich in
nutrients and vitamins that will help keep you
healthy throughout.
4) EXERCISE
Exercise improves circulation which helps keep
your skin supple and elastic. Upon your doctors
approval, engage in a daily exercise routine.
