  • Since I've lived with and worn my denture every
day of my life (since 1938), I believe I'm in a
strong place to advise you about how to keep your
denture looking clean and new at all times.
  • Denture cleanliness is a major problem for most
denture wearers. I'll try to clarify what's
needed here without attempting to persuade you to
purchase this brand of cleaner or this kind of
    soaking water. Visit denture cleaning
  • People have always had a hard time keeping their
real teeth clean and safe, but we shouldn't be
shocked if we have almost the same trouble with
our fresh fake teeth since having dentures. This
new acrylic (plastic) dentures are simple to
clean. The major distinction is that, unlike
normal teeth, denture teeth can be extracted for
extensive brushing and never develop cavities!

  • Let me draw your attention to the fact that the
first recorded dentures were produced by the
Etruscans about 2,000 years ago in Asia Minor and
the Mediterranean areas of Italy. Etruscans were
specialists in dentistry as a result of their
fascination with teeth, and they were skilled in
the development of prosthetics and bridgework.
About 500 BC, Etruscan goldsmiths created very
impressive collections of gold hoops loaded with
artificial teeth carved to match the size of any
holes in a patient's remaining natural teeth,
according to legend. Ivory, wood, oxen teeth, and
good human teeth were used to carve those teeth.
Those dentures were striking in appearance and
could be left in the wearer's mouth when chewing.
However, due to the scarcity and high cost of
gold, such early dentures were only affordable to
the extremely wealthy. Click here denture

  • However, much of the Etruscan experience was lost
after the Roman Empire fell. Then, in the 1800s,
scholars were able to restore and reestablish
several of the Etruscan's best techniques for
    denture construction for contemporary usage.

  • Small sticks with pounded ends were used to make
the first toothbrushes. The toothbrushes of
Buddhist priests is constructed of sweet-tasting
tufted twigs. A inmate in England built a
toothbrush constructed of bone with holes for
bristles salvaged from a jail broom in 1770.
  • Early toothpicks were discovered in a Peruvian
gravesite going back 9,525 years. They've been
discovered in Chinese tombs as well. Dinner
visitors in ancient Rome were often given
polished metal toothpicks at the end of the meal.

  • Powdered berries, burnt eggs, talc, sugar, ground
eggs, and even dried flowers were once used in
toothpaste. Mice, "back of the hare," lizard
livers, and urine are among the ingredients
mentioned on old toothpaste labels. Many of these
ingredients were used in toothpastes and powders
on a daily basis. The Romans used bone, eggshell,
and burned oyster shells to make toothpaste,
which was then combined with honey and ground or
    powdered.
