  • The decentralized web is a very abstract concept
sought by many computer researchers these days.
The basic idea states that the entire Internet
will be disorganized into a number of different
servers, which run entirely autonomously, each
one maintaining a unique copy of everything that
is available on the Internet. In this manner,
everyone is able to find and visit every site on
the Internet at once, and no single individual or
institution is in a position to control what
anyone does on the network. The network functions
    like a self-organizing, self-sufficient organism
where everyone is able to use its resources
effectively and for their own good. Because the
Internet is truly global in scope, it may seem
like the decentralized web can never really be
fully implemented in a way that works well for
everyone. Do you want to learn more? Visit list

  • While the decentralized web may not really be
practical in the near future, there are some
protocols being developed that could pave the way
for a more robust and practical system of
organizing the web's content. Two of the major
players in the realm of protocols for a
decentralized web are Hypertext Preprocessor (HP)
and the W3C. HP was developed by Apple for the
iPod, and it currently runs on the Mac. W3C, a
non-profit group, has developed and actively
maintains the HTML and script languages upon
which the bulk of Internet websites are written.
These two groups have formed the Open Web
Consortium in an effort to standardize the way
that the web's applications communicate. Do you

  • One of the biggest concerns with decentralized
networks like the one described above is that if
one part of the system goes down, all of the
other parts could go with it, effectively
paralyzing the Internet for everyone. By
    decentralizing the infrastructure behind the
Internet, developers can put in place a number of
different protocols that will work together to
keep the Internet functioning. This way, all
people and institutions can utilize the Internet
without worry, and no single entity or party has
the sole control or power over the system. This
is similar to how the Internet functions, with
major companies like Google controlling and
maintaining the backbone. If an organization or
government wanted to take advantage of this
    structure for decentralized web-based
applications, they would have to develop their
own protocol for doing so.Do you want to learn
