What is the new Education Policy?

• Government of India promulgated right to
  education in the first decade of 21st century.
  Education is fundamental and considers as the
  essential step in making a civilized nation.
  Children of any country are the biggest asset
  because they will become future flag bearers. So
  the government and the policymakers have the onus
  on their shoulders to make imperative development
  in the field of education.

• Recently the ministry of human resource and
  development has come up with new education policy
  and emphasis is laid on developing good human
  beings who are capable of rational thought and
  focuses on access to equity. It aims at
  cultivating future minds who have access to
  optimal potential and scientific temper so that a
  plural society can be created. A society in which
  the minds are not predefined or controlled but
  something which continuously coaxes young mind to
  raise questions and see things around them with a
  critical view. It has introduced landmark changes
  which satisfy the fundamental characteristic of a
  good document. It will mould the old school
  educational curriculum in a number of ways such
  as

• Now the new age group of mandatory education is
  3-18 years which has replaced the former age
  group of 6-14 years.
• The new system will have 12 years of schooling
  with 3 years of pre-schooling. So much emphasis
  is laid on early childhood care and education a
  new structure of 5334 replacing 102. It will
  cover the age of 3-8, 8-11, 11-14, and 14-18.
• The new education policy follows the three
  language formula, but mother tongue is
  incorporated as the medium of instruction because
  students learn more in their regional level.
  Adequate measures are taken to ensure that no
  language is imposed which boost the very nature
  of our culture that is diversity.

• Under NEP, there is no rigid separation between
  science, arts, or commerce stream. Students will
  have diverse options for choosing subjects which
  eradicate their horizon to be limited. They will
  also get opportunities to learn vocational
  subjects.
• The aim of formulating this program is to
  encourage the holistic growth of a child and
  fulfil the dreams of our great forefathers like
  Rabindranath Tagore who always laid emphasis on
  learning beyond 4 walls. Education paves the way
  for a brighter future so it should not be
  compromised at any cost.

• Government is moving ahead to do away with rote
  learning this will affect coaching centers where
  after attending schools, students go for extra
  classes and find no time for themselves. This
  structure will introduce changes which are
  integral and essential for the actual growth of a
  child. Because in today?s time, mugging up of
  facts is not required rather, they need to find
  an innovative solution to face challenges.
