BULIMIA NERVOSA
Bulimia, like anorexia, can be life-threatening.
This eating disorder is typically characterised
by binge eating, followed by purging or using
extreme methods to avoid weight gain. These
methods may include self-induced vomiting,
abusing laxatives, excessive exercising or
fasting. There are specialised bulimia treatment
programmes available to help bulimics get faster
and permanent recovery.

EFFECTS OF BULIMIA NERVOSA
The effects of bulimia, which worsen the longer
the condition persists, include mental disorders
such as depression and anxiety, but also physical
damage to the heart, kidneys, digestive system
and teeth.

BULIMIA NERVOSA TREATMENT BY ELLERN MEDE

  • Psychotherapy - Cognitive behavioral therapy
    (CBT), Family-based treatment, Interpersonal
    psychotherapy.

  • Nutrition Education - Eating regularly and not
    restricting your food intake is important in
    overcoming bulimia.
  • Hospitalization - You may need treatment in a
