The First C - Colour

• You might think of diamonds only as the popular
  colourless shining gemstone. However, they come
  in a variety of colours. Most have subtle yellow
  shades, but others display brilliant hues of
  pink, blue, or even black. While colourless
  diamonds are heralded as the standard, you may be
  someone who prefers the rarer coloured stones. If
  you buy a unique lab grown diamond you can also
  have it artificially coloured to suit your
  sensibility!

The Second C - Clarity

• Diamonds can also be flawed, which is referred to
  as clarity. Flaws in diamonds interfere with its
  ability to disperse light, and will make the
  diamond seem less clear and rather dull. The less
  number of flaws a diamond has the more brilliant
  it looks. Completely flawless diamonds however,
  are rare.

The Third C - Carat

• Diamonds can be shaped to any size you desire.
  That is why they are usually measured by weight.
  They are measured in carats, where one carat
  equals 0.2 grams. Whether you are buying a
  natural diamond or an artificial diamond you will
  find that the carat is an important C to
  consider when buying a diamond.

The Fourth C - Cut

• You want to buy a diamond of the best quality.
  This is known as the cut of the diamond. The look
  of the diamond is carefully crafted with cuts of
  specific angles, depths, and widths. This helps
  creating the dispersion of light, and the glow
  that we adore.

The Final C - Cost

• While cost is not typically listed under the Cs
  to look out for, it is a definitely a factor that
  is important. The cost of diamonds can vary based
  on the colour, clarity, carat, and cut. Natural
  diamonds are quite expensive due to their rarity,
  and the effort taken to procure them. However,
  synthetic diamonds make a great alternative. They
  have the same brilliance of natural diamonds for
  a significantly lower cost!
