1Maxi Spin Column
We pretty much completed testing the columns.
Based on our experience testing many columns from
different manufacturers, all columns in general
work for all assay. The 2 areas in which they are
mostly different is (1) the amount of DNA they
can bind, (2) their physical aspects (do they
look good, does membrane collapses after
spinning). We are satisfied with the physical
aspects, so we were comparing the binding
capacity. We were using sheared salmon sperm DNA
for this.
2Mini Spin Column
- Here are the observations that I made about your
columns - Based on the ratio of RNA-to-DNA extraction your
columns actually turned out to be somewhat
suboptimal, they end up with capturing a bit too
much DNA together with the RNA - 2) However, the total amount of extracted nucleic
acid product is very high. Based on this I am
expecting your columns to be optimal for DNA
extraction - 3) Visually the columns look very nice. I have
observed that even when using Thermo Fisher Kit
columns, I see some settling of the membrane at
the end of all steps (that is due to
centrifugation the membrane compresses and there
is a visible separation between the membrane and
the o-ring that holds it in place). However, this
effect was almost completely absent from your
columns, so the craft manship and quality of the
membrane look very good.
3Micro Spin Column
At present, micro spin column on the market are
generally 20ul or 10ul purification systems, and
the purification effect is not particularly
desirable. Based on such actual conditions, we
have developed the latest micro spin column that
can purify at least 5ul system. And importantly,
this latest developed micro spin column overcomes
the unsatisfactory purification effect of the
micro spin columns on the market, ensuring that
at least 5 ul of elution volume can also achieve
optimal purification, concentration and recycle
effect. This latest developed micro spin column
can be widely used for RNA, DNA micro extraction,
low-abundance RNA, DNA concentration, etc.
