INTRODUCTION
Businesses must simultaneously attract, hire, and
retain new talent, continuously grow and keep up
with the demands of that growth, handle cash
flow issues, follow complicated tax regulations,
meet employee healthcare requirements, face the
ups and downs of changing economic conditions,
and stay a step or several ahead of the
competition.

WHY HACKERS LOVE SMALL BUSINESSES
Hackers like small businesses because they
typically have weak online security. Businesses
are being pushed online as consumer shopping
trends change. Many are doing more through cloud
services than ever before, which makes them easy
targets. Since small businesses are valuable
targets for many hackers, it's important that
business owners know how to protect their
customers and their business from attacks.

USE STRONG PASSWORDS
One of the top vulnerabilities companies have
that hackers can take advantage of is weak or
common passwords. These allow hackers to work
their way into a system relatively easily,
without the need of more advanced technology.

KEEP CONTROL OF ACCESS
It's also a good idea to make sure that software
can only be installed with permission. Only
trusted IT and other key employees should be
allowed to install software and do other
administrative tasks. If your business has
laptops that employees use, be sure they are
locked up when not in use. Also, be sure that all
account login information follows the same rules
as you have for passwords They should be unique
and changed every three months.

ITS TIME TO OWN YOUR PRIVACY
  • Its time for small business to own their
privacy. They must make cybersecurity a
priority. Neither size nor industry is a
deterrent to hackers. Owners of plumbing
businesses and pet stores need cybersecurity
just as much as banks and insurance
  • providers.
