Dr. Cohen is a thyroid surgeon, as well as a
general surgeon. He is the founder and managing
partner of the Surgery Group of LA. He is highly
experienced in laparoscopic, robotic and other
minimally invasive surgical techniques, and
specializes in head and neck endocrine surgery.
Dr. Cohen is a leading expert in the surgical
treatment of the thyroid and parathyroid

Dr. Cohen earned his M.D. at SUNY Health Science
Center at Brooklyn, where he also completed his
general surgery residency. Upon completing his
chief residency year at SUNY, he moved to Los
Angeles where he trained as a surgical oncology
fellow at Cedars-Sinai Medical Center.
Immediately after finishing his fellowship, Dr.
Cohen became the director of the surgical
oncology/breast clinic at Cedars-Sinai. As an
early adopter of technological advancements in
surgery, Dr. Cohen strives to utilize minimally
invasive surgery as a way to provide his patients
with a treatment option that reduces both
scarring and speed recovery time.
