1
Don't Ruin Your GMAT Exam by Committing These
Mistakes
2
Introduction
  • The GMAT exam is a computer adaptive test (CAT)
that examines a candidate through different
sections, i.e. an analytical writing assessment,
an integrated reasoning section, a quantitative
section, and a verbal section. The GMAT is taken
by an aspiring MBA or any masters degree
candidates. As we all are aware of the fact that
GMAT isnt a childs play, it takes a lot of hard
work and dedicated preparation to crack this
exam. So, as to help candidates in their
preparation journey GMAT Singapore is offering
various preparation courses and running coaching
    classes.
  • Yes, it is very much possible to crack the GMAT
exam with dedicated preparation, but, with
certain mistakes can become the blockage to the
road of your dream B-schools. In this blog, we
will talk about different mistakes that can ruin
    your GMAT score.

3
Mistake 1 - GMAT Preparation With Every Study
Material Available
  • I know you are very keen to crack the GMAT exam
and I wish you do on the very first attempt. But,
you should understand that every study material
available on the online medium or available
offline is not meant for you. From time to time,
it has been found that students tend to practice
from every study material possible which
decreases their chances of gaining knowledge to
deal with questions that test your analytical
skill while answering. Thus, always go for the
study materials that suit your GMAT goal.

Mistake 2 - Trying to Memorize the Concepts and
Vocab
  • It is the second major mistake candidae3 tend to
do during the GMAT exam preparation. You need to
understand GMAT doesnt test your memorizing
skills but tests understanding of your concepts.
Hence, it is advised that rather than going for
rote learning try to understand whatever you are
reading or practicing. Thats the best way of
    preparing for the GMAT exam.

5
Mistake 3 - Assumptions Doesnt Work in Critical
Reasoning
  • Critical Reasoning (CR) is one of the crucial
sections of the GMAT exam. Having said that, it
is one of the challenging topics as per many GMAT
takers the main mistake made by them in this
section is their own assumption. No, assumptions
dont work in the CR section. You need to follow
different sets of rules and logical understanding
while answering questions from the critical
reasoning section in the GMAT Singapore test
    center.

6
Mistake 4 - Focusing Solely on the Content of
the Analytical Writing Section
  • You need to showcase professionalism while
writing for the Analytical Writing section. It
requires critical thinking as well as analytical
skills to answer the question of the GMAT exam.
You need to focus on learning skills to approach
the questions rather than focusing only on the
content. It is always best to have a guide from
GMAT preparation online classes to help you with
different skills needed to ace the writing part
    of the GMAT.

Mistake 5 - Cramming Night Before the Exam
  • Do you think you can cover each and everything a
night before the actual test? If you are thinking
that, it is always dependent upon you. But, being
a well-wisher, I dont want you to do that. You
need to have a sound sleep the day before the
GMAT exam, else youre likely to lose focus
during the exam, which will ultimately affect
    your score.
  • Lastly, I would say, it will be best if you could
avoid these mistakes. Avoiding these will give
you an upper hand going into the exam, so, why
not work on them, right? And, yes, best of luck
    with your exams.
