• Every normal woman has a monthly menstrual cycle
  occurring inside her which makes her bleed once

Causes of irregular periods

• The causes behind such phenomena can be quite a
  few but that mainly includes the hormonal
  imbalance. Estrogen and progesterone, the two
  hormones that impact the menstruation cycle of
  every woman also regulate the menstruation of
  women and causes it to be regular or irregular
  depending upon its influences.
• Some life cycles changes that impacts the
  hormones include puberty, childbirth, menopause,
  pregnancy, and breastfeeding when it is common to
  face irregular periods. But apart from these
  cases, if a woman faces irregular period then
  there can be some serious issues with her
  hormones.
• Some other causes of irregular periods include
  emotional stress, extreme weight loss or gain,
  eating disorders such as bulimia or
  anorexia, PCOS, endurance exercises, etc.

Symptoms of irregular periods

• Obviously the primary symptoms include a late
  periodic cycle of the woman that means the entire
  cycle can take more than the 28-30 days of normal
  length and can arrive before or after that
  period. Sometimes the woman may take up to 2
  years to establish a normal menstrual cycle and
  that could be one of the symptoms of irregular
  periods.
• The bleeding period may also fluctuate and the
  women can bleed for 2 days or 7 days irregularly
  which means she is suffering from irregular
  periods conditions. If the cycle becomes longer
  than 35 days then it is considered irregular
  periods symptoms also. The blood flow time and
  the menstruation cycle coordination is hampered
  sometimes and it is also known as an irregular
  period symptom.
