Fun Activities to Improve Your Little Ones
Development
2
  • Parents can encourage language and cognitive
development in their toddler with these fun and
    amazing learning activities.
  • Try Measuring Up
  • Parents can use everyday items to teach their
toddler how to measure. While rulers are one of
the most common measuring tools, you could
experiment with seasons, time of year, and months
to make the entire learning process more
    interesting for your little one.
  • In the autumn season, have your kid lie down
outdoors and line up some apples next to them
asking them to measure how many apples tall they
are. You could also use other items such as Legos
to have them measure their height.
  • For added fun, suggests the childs expert at the
nursery franchise in Surat, you could have your
child discover the number of books it would take
    to cover entire bed.

Try Out Textures
  • When it comes to toddlers, they are expert
sensory learners who really love touching,
tasting, and smelling in order to understand
    their surrounding environment.
  • You could use a marker of dark color and trace
numbers and/or letters onto a poster paper, and
have your toddler decorate those letters and
numbers with textured things such as beans,
cotton balls, pipe cleaners, pastas, and
    sandpaper.

4
  • Touching letters gives your child the opportunity
to really feel how letter are formed.
  • For those who are learning to write, the kids
fingers could experiment with various shapes of
the letter before they could grasp any writing
utensil, suggests the teachers at the preschool
    franchise in Ahmedabad.
  • Each day, parents can say the numbers and letters
out loud as their kid runs their fingers over
    them.
  • And later on, extend that activity by creating a
paper poster which spells out their first name.
  • You would see that soon enough, your kid would
notice those letters on posters, billboards, and
    signs.

5
Label Your Household
  • Start with picking up a couple of items in the
house to label, such as windows, chairs, and
refrigerators, and rotate labeled object after
every couple month. Make the labels of the same
size, using basic fonts so that the children
    could identify them easily.
  • You need to type the letters, print them out, and
cut individual works out, and then use the blue
painters tape (allowing ease of removal) to
    adhere the words to objects.

6
  • One could use glue as well to adhere the letters
to index cards and thereby stick the index cards
    onto objects.
  • Labeling enables your child to know that each and
every thing has certain common symbols that are
used to label each object and would allow them to
identify those letters and symbols, suggests the
caregiver at the preschool franchise Rajkot.
  • If your little one is old enough to be able to
recognize the letters, you could ask them what
letter the word room begins with. Also, you
could ask them to find the label(s) that begin
    with R.
  • If your child is too young, then you may point
out the different letters and then introduce your
child to the words. Try reinforcing this concept
daily, regularly, and over time, you would see
your child being able to easily identify each
    word independently.
