Methods to fix Spotify error code 18

• Launch Task manager by pressing Ctrl Shift
  Esc.
• Go to the Processes tab.
• Scroll down through the list of processes and
  look for any processes with the name Spotify
• Once you find this process, right-click on each
  process one by one and click on End Process.
• To confirm the action, click on End process in
  the dialog box.

Delete the Spotify folder in the AppData
directory of your computer

• Press the Windows key R simultaneously to open
  a Run dialog.
• In the run dialog box, type appdata . Press
  Enter.
• The AppData directory will open in a fresh
  instance of Windows Explorer.
• Search for the Spotify folder in the AppData
  directory and right-click on it. Press Delete.
• Click on Yes to confirm the changes.
• Delete the Spotify folder.

Uninstall programs interfering with Spotify

• Go to the Start Menu.
• Look for add or remove programs
• Select the search result named Add or remove
  programs.
• Scroll down through the list of programs
  installed on your computer, locate the program
  you think is hindering the installation of
  Spotify.
• Right-click on it and Uninstall it.
• Go through the wizard for uninstallation.

• After uninstallation, restart your computer.
• Run the Spotify installer. It should now work
  successfully.
• After successful installation of Spotify on your
  computer, reinstall the program that you have
  uninstalled.
