Title: A Few Do's And Don'ts Following Your Lasik Surgery!
1(No Transcript)
2Before undergoing LASIK eye surgery, your surgeon
will discuss all the possible risks and benefits
involved, so you can take your decision
accordingly and follow the necessary steps.
3If you wear rigid gas permeable contact lenses,
you will be asked to stop wearing them at least 3
weeks before and other types of contact lenses 3
days before the evaluation.
4Your eyeglasses prescription will be reviewed.
Besides fully examining your eyes, your medical
history will also be evaluated.
5The initial tests will involve
- Measuring corneal thickness
- Refraction
- Corneal mapping
- Eye pressure
- Pupil dilation
6Do not wear any creams, lotions, eye makeup,
perfumes or have bulky accessories in your hair
on the day of the surgery as it may interfere
with positioning your head under the
laser. Remember to flush out any debris from the
eyes using artificial tears.
7You can have a light meal and take all your
prescribed medications before the surgery unless
your LASIK surgeon says otherwise. It is
advisable to have someone drive you home
after the surgery.
8In case you feel anxious before the surgery,
mention this to the staff or the surgeon as they
can help you out with anti-anxiety medication or
even postpone the procedure.
