Setup Canon Pixma MX490
Canon has a range of low-priced designs,
comparable to other suppliers that supply
printers as well as MFPs to home as well as small
business people. The canon mx490 wireless setup
is sure to set you back just over a hundred
dollars. For a four-function device that provides
printing, scanning, copying and faxing, that's
not much, but it doesn't necessarily mean it's a
great value.

Menu Setup

• A Setup Menu along with the Wireless LAN Setup gt
  is displayed where you just have to press OK
• The printer automatically looks for the wireless
  router a scrolling text instruction asks you to
  press the OK button after connection
• Now, press the Stop button to display the
  Wireless LAN Setup and the option Standard Setup
  gt under it on the LCD
• Press the Right Arrow button to go to Other Setup
  gt and then press OK again use the Right Arrow
  button to go to Cableless Setup -gt Press OK
• A scrolling text asks you to complete the setup
  on the smartphone or PC

A CD Rom accompanying the printer will contain
the necessary and basic software required to
operate the printer
Software Setup
You can either insert the CD ROM into the
computer or visit the Canon Pixma MX490 setup for
drivers website to download it

Follow the setup link to download the software
for your printer select your region U.S.A and
then go to the PIXMA MX Series list
Click on MX492 which will also work for the Canon
MX490 Setup
Under the Setup menu, there are two options
Connecting to Computer, Smartphone, or Tablet and
Making Fax Ready for Use

On the next two screens, simply click on Next to
visualize the Canon Pixma mx490 Setup Procedure

Here, between the two options, Push Button Method
and Other Methods, choose the latter

Following your selection, a screen with two or
three choices namely WPS, Cableless setup, Other
Setup / Wireless Setup Using the USB Cable are
displayed
Click on Cableless Setup -gt Next to open the
Connection via cableless Setup screen
Through the subsequent three screens, simply
click on the Next button on each of them

Network Connection
A progress screen called Setting up is displayed
that actually disables the network connection
temporarily
Thereafter, a Connection Completed screen is
visualized from where click on Next
At the list of applications, click Next and agree
to the licenses terms by clicking on Yes
The next screen will provide a message asking you
to allow all Install Wizard Processes
