HISTORY
  • It began as a celebration of a bountiful harvest
    by farmers.
  • In the Heian period, the custom of viewing the
    moon, was introduced to Japan. This was
    influenced by Chinas mid-autumn festivals.
  • Before long, Japanese aristocrats began viewing
    the moon on their boats, where they composed
    beautiful poetry.
