Title: Seychelles diving - Coral Strand Hotel
1 Seychelles Diving Coral Strand Hotel
One of the most attractive features of the
Seychelles is the clear turquoise waters of the
Indian Ocean that surround the islands. Stunning
underwater terrain, extensive reefs, cliffs,
sunken ships and canyons make this place popular
among those who enjoy diving. This is one of the
most favorite entertainment in Seychelles with
tourists.
2Diving season Diving in the Seychelles is
possible all year round. However, during March,
April, September, October and November, the water
is calmer. During these months, visibility can
reach a staggering 30 m. The water temperature
reaches 29 C, which is comfortable to dive.
During this period, more remote places are
offered for where you can encounter large
representatives of the fauna, such as sharks and
manta rays. These places are especially good for
experienced divers.
3 During June, July, August, the southeastern
monsoon brings strong winds and the water
temperature drops to around 25 C. During this
period, plankton filling appears in the water, so
visibility can be significantly reduced, but
these nutrients stimulate the appearance of whale
sharks that can reach an incredible 10 m in
length. Diving centers offer special diving
programs during this period, so the likelihood of
swimming or even diving among these magnificent
creatures is very high.
4 Seychelles diving places
Scuba diving schools on the islands of Mahe,
Praslin, La Digue and Deroche meet the interests
of both novice and advanced divers, and charter
companies will take you to one of the best dive
sites, although there are several dozen off the
coast of Mahe Island. Experienced divers
probably dont need to talk about Desroches Drop,
a limestone coral plateau decorated with
mysterious caves and canyons. Similar, fantastic
underwater landscapes can be found around
Alphonse Atoll.
5 Marine life Seychelles
The marine life of the islands boasts an
abundance of fish even on shallow coastal reefs,
and presents various types of butterfly fish and
angel fish, soldier fish, squirrel fish and brush
fish, among many others. Reef Islands are also
home to many invertebrates, including Octopus,
Prickly Lobster, and a large number of Nudibranch
chromodoris, such as the Spanish Ballerina.
6 Regular current underwater worlds support fan
corals and colorful tree-like coral formations,
while more distant sites are home to larger fish
species such as napoleons', giant groupers, reef
sharks and manta rays. The most impressive
representatives of the Seychelles underwater
world are whale sharks feeding on plankton, which
can be found throughout the year around the inner
islands, with a peak of observations in August
and from October to January.
