  growths of the muscle tissue of the uterus that
  develop in or on a womans uterus. They grow into
  the form of tumors which range in size from small
  seedlings, which are undetectable by the human
  eye, bulky masses as big as a grapefruit.
  Therefore distorting and enlarging the uterus
  quite large and cause severe abdominal pain and
  heavy periods.
