Over the past few years Healthcare has become one
of India's largest sectors both in terms of
revenue and employment. The industry is growing
at a tremendous pace owing to its strengthening
coverage, services and increasing expenditure by
public as well private players. According to
India Brand Equity Foundation (IBEF,) India is
expected to reach among top three healthcare
markets in terms of incremental growth by 2020.
The healthcare sector in India is expected to
grow threefold at a CAGR of 22 per cent during
2016-2022 to reach US 372 billion in 2022 from
US 110 billion in 2016. Currently India stands
at 145th rank among 195 nations in respect of
quality and accessibility of healthcare. These
numbers shows the immense scope for enhancing
healthcare services penetration in India, thus
presenting ample opportunity for development of
the healthcare industry
3- MBA programs are designed to offer the students
with the knowledge needed for managerial and
planning work in the hospital field. It includes
forming the strategy to manage the departments of
the hospitals and providing effective patient
care. The students are taught to deal with
social, ethical, legal and economic challenges
that form the part of the hospital management
field. This field required highly skilled and
professional administrators with managerial
functions which include planning, implementing
controlling and evaluating various tasks in a
proportionate manner. Medical field not only
includes clinical healthcare professionals but
also the managerial department which will manage
the quality, services, inventory, infrastructure
etc of the hospitals. Do you think of a hospital
whose waiting area is full of patients and what
if the doctors are unable to manage them, think
of a situation where there is a conflict between
the patients and the doctor? what do you think
who solve these conflicts? The doctors or the
nurses or the gatekeeper, none of them this
conflicts and the management of the patients are
done by the Hospital Manager who will reduce the
waiting time, monitor the level of patients in
the hospitals, check the services provided by the
doctor, solves the conflicts etc. So for the
proper functioning of any hospital, there is a
need for integrated clinical management which
includes the doctors and the managers.
