- NRIs should be aware of the fact that there are
two types of application forms - Form 49A and
Form 49AA. They must select Form 49AAwhich is
valid for those individuals and entities residing
outside India. The Form 49A is valid only for
applicants who are Indian Citizens and Indian
companies within India. -
- Filling and submitting the form

- The Pan Application form for NRI has sections
where relevant details such as name, address,
signature and passport-sized photographs must be
provided. Along with the form, applicants must
also furnish their valid proof of identity (POI)
and proof of address (POA). The forms should be
submitted to the NSDL along with a processing fee
which is around Rs. 1,040 for applicants residing
outside India. - After the successful processing of the forms, the
PAN card will be delivered to applicants
addresswithin 15 to 20 business days. The
applicants will get a 15-digit unique
Acknowledgment Number which can be used to track
the application status within 3 or 4 days of
application.
