Panchase Hill Trek is relatively an easy trek
that takes trekkers to old stone-stepped
structured stairs which gives the area a very
antique look. Panchase Hill Trek lies to the
west of the bustling Pokhara city which takes us
to the sparse settlements of the locals in
Panchase area, passing through paddy fields and
grasslands. It is also considered as a
pilgrimage site by many locals as it is the main
source of Fewa Lake in Pokhara. Locals also visit
the place to pay their respect to the dead souls
and say their prayers to the mountain gods.
Panchase Hill Trek is comparatively a less
touristy area where most families with a very
limited period of time for their vacation come to
visit. The maximum altitude of the trek is 2500
m, hence the trek rewards travelers with amazing
experience regardless of their age or any
physical limitations. Although, the trek consists
of very few activities that complete in a short
span of time, the experience of witnessing the
panoramic view of the Himalayan giants over 8000
m height including Annapurna, Manaslu, and
Dhaulagiri, is not any less than that offered by
the Ghorepani Poon Hill. Panchase Hill Trek
begins from the south-west side of the beautiful
Pokhara city. As we make our way up the Panchase
Region, the peak of Machhapuchhre (Fishtail)
sneak peeks at us throughout the journey. The
trail passes through diverse topographical
structures that vary from place to place, taking
us through cultivation lands where we can see
rice paddy fields followed by dense rhododendron
forests spreading serenity and beauty to the
region. We head towards Bhanjyang and hike to
Panchase Hill where we come across holy Hindu
temples that holds a great significance in the
region. Thousands of locals visit the temples in
the belief that their sins are cleansed if they
pray to the Hindu gods. The region consists of
Brahmin, Magar, Chettri and Gurung villages who
hold a great pride in their culture and
tradition. We roam around the Panchase region
enjoying the fascinating cultural diversity.
Panchase Hill Trek is an extraordinary and ideal
trek for trekkers who wish to experience the
local culture and tradition along with an
exceptionally beautiful landscape amongst the
incredible mountain vistas in a very short
time. Detail Itinerary Kathmandu to Pokhara

well. The majority of gear is locally
manufactured (hence a lot cheaper) although it is
becoming more common for gear to be imported
