Steel /Foundry
Cast steel is a ferrous (iron-based) alloy with a
maximum carbon content of approximately 0.75
percent. Steel castings are solid metal objects
produced by filling the void within a mold with
liquid steel. They are available in many of the
same carbon and alloy steels that can be produced
as wrought metals.

Cement/Concrete
In its simplest form, concrete is a mixture of
paste and aggregates, or rocks. The paste,
composed of Portland cement and water, coats the
surface of the fine (small) and coarse (larger)
aggregates. Through a chemical reaction called
hydration, the paste hardens and gains strength
to form the rock-like mass known as concrete.

Refractory, any material that has an unusually
high melting point and that maintains its
structural properties at very high temperatures.
Composed principally of ceramics, refractory's
are employed in great quantities in the
metallurgical, glassmaking, and ceramics
industries, where they are formed into a variety
of shapes to line the interiors of furnaces,
kilns, and other devices that process materials
at high temperatures.
