• A roller shutter is basically a system of
  interconnected slats that is widely used to
  enhance security systems in various buildings.
  Our roller shutters are made up of aluminum and
  can also be used to protect the windows from
  direct sunlight etc.
• When you close a roller shutter, the slat slides
  through the edges on both sides and after rolling
  down you can lock it up with the floor. Whereas
  when the roller shutter gets opened, the slats
  roll up into a box situated right above.

• However, to make it function properly, there are
  also other parts associated with the process.
  Below is a list of parts including their
  functions
• Cheek Plate
• There are two cheek plates which support the
  curtain inside situ. These are fixed in
  accordance with the required roller shutter size
  for the building.
• Flag Post
• Flag post is put at an angle to give additional
  support to the cheek plate and help in installing
  the shutter.

• Roller Assembly
• The curtain in situ is controlled by a full
  dimension roller which is connected to the cheek
  plates. The roller has steel tube with a hollow
  motor fitted and a shaft on respective ends.
• Tubular Motor
• The tubular motor is placed inside shutters
  overhead barrel assembly. Outside the barrel is
  another motorhead which helps in a manual
  override of the shutter and controls its
  movement. This is also associated with the
  operational brake system.

• U-Cup or Bearing
• This is in replacement to the brake and can be
  fitted along the cheek plate for barrels.
• Bottom Rail
• In order to enhance rigidity, curtains are shaped
  in T or L format from the ends.
• Cannopy Cowl
• This is extra galvanized steel which is not
  necessary. It is often wrapped around cheek
  plates to protect the curtain from rain and dirt
  when especially the roller mechanism or motor is
  below 2500mm high.

• Finishes
• The aluminum roller shutters can be coated with
  an oxidized layer of silver from the ends or you
  can also be powder coated it with colors
  according to the ones which suit your
  requirements.
