• As per the Australian Department of Immigration
  and Border Protection Minister passed rules so
  that people coming from international locations
  have a genuine reason to study in Australia on
  student visa and return to their home country. 
• There are some changes in the 457 visas to
  strengthen the requirements to gain citizenship
  in Australia. 
• Decision was made to remove more than 200
  occupations from the skilled occupations list, so
  that migrants do not stay back.

• Hence, the 457 visas were replaced with two new
  versions with strict application requirements. 
• The 457 visa is very popular with highly skilled
  migrants who are willing to settle in Australia
  in search of a safe community and politically
  stable environment with available job
  opportunities. 
• This visa allowed access to international workers
  where the local skills and experience is not
  available as that not only led to legally living
  and working in Australia with the added benefit
  but also led to citizenship of Australia.

• The intention of the 457 visa was to enhance the
  Australian economy and society by introducing the
  know-how of the foreigners that are specialized
  in acute and key fields. 
• As per the decision of the Australian Department
  of Immigration and Border Protection Minister,
  the 457 visa will be replaced with two short
  skilled visas
• Two-year short term visa without pathway to
  permanent residency in Australia.
• Four-year medium term visa with a pathway that
  will lead to permanent residency in Australia.

• To study abroad on student visa in Australia
  International students' needs to fulfil their
  requirements to become eligible for the
  application in the Australian Universities. 
• International students will have to submit a
  Genuine Temporary Entrant Statement that should
  be filled in very detail or it might lead to visa
  rejection.
• The international student should be aware of the
  annual living expenses for self or guardian,
  partner or spouse and child. 
• If parents or spouse or children of the student
  are accompanying to Australia, then all the
  expenses should be mentioned in the calculation
  of funds.

• Also, the student should have sufficient health
  cover till their stay in Australia.
• In case the OSHC (Overseas Student Health Cover)
  is nearing its expiry date the AUG Australia can
  assist the students to renew their health cover
  at a cheap rate. 
• As per the Department of Home Affairs Australia
  some of occupations were flagged such as
  Accommodation and Hospitality Manager, Hair or
  Beauty Salon Manager, Recruitment Consultant and
  Building Associate are removed from the Short
  Term Skilled Occupation List.

• The university Tutor, Psychotherapist, property
  Manager, Real Estate Agent and Real Estate
  Representative are added to the occupation list. 
• Few of the Short Term Skilled Occupation List
  (STSOL) occupations were moved to the Medium and
  Long-term Strategic Skills List (MLTSSL) such as
  Horse breeder and Management consultant. 
• As there is a shortage of pilots in Australia, so
  if the international students in Australia wants
  to work as a pilot in Australia it will be
  considered under MLTSSL and this will make it
  eligible for 4 year visa period.

• It is mandatory for international students to
  fulfil all the requirements to study in
  Australia to get admission in their chosen
  university and work abroad for short term.
